The box office tallies for Resident Evil are in, and as expected, the new Zach Cregger-directed movie has been a big hit on its opening weekend. In North America, the film made $60 million, and globally, it brought in $48.3 million. That makes for a combined total of $108.3 million. That exceeds the original prediction of between $40 million and $50 million by a comfortable margin.
