Activision has made a key announcement about how Double XP tokens work in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and it sounds like good news. Beginning with MW4, 2XP tokens will only count down when you’re actually in a match. Previously, the timer would tick down when you were in a game’s menus or searching for a match. That’s not ideal for a lot of reasons, obviously.
